【摘要】:Thistestmethodistheprocedureofchoicefordeterminingvolatilesincoatingsforthepurposeofcalculatingthevolatileorganiccontentincoatingsunderspecifiedtestconditions.Theweightpercentsolidscontent(nonvolatilematter)maybedeterminedbydifference.Thisinformationisusefultothepaintproduceranduserandtoenvironmentalinterestsfordeterminingthevolatilesemittedbycoatings.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforthedeterminationoftheweightpercentvolatilecontentofsolventborneandwaterbornecoatings.Testspecimensareheatedat110x00B1;5x00B0;Cfor60min.Note18212;Thecoatingsusedintheseround-robinstudiesrepresentedair-dried,air-driedoxidizing,heat-curedbakingsystems,andalsoincludedmulticomponentpaintsystems.1.2Sixtyminutesat110x00B1;5x00B0;Cisageneralpurposetestmethodbasedontheprecisionobtainedwithbothsolventborneandwaterbornecoatings(seeSection9).1.3Thistestmethodisviableforcoatingswhereinoneormorepartsmay,atambientconditions,containliquidcoreactantsthatarevolatileuntilachemicalreactionhasoccurredwithanothercomponentofthemulti-packagesystem.Note28212;CommitteeD01hasrunround-robinstudiesonvolatilesofmulticomponentpaintsystems.Theonlychangeinprocedureistopremixtheweighedcomponentsinthecorrectproportionsandallowthespecimenstostandatroomtemperaturefor1hpriortoplacingthemintotheoven.
