【摘要】:ThisSAERecommendedPracticeappliestodeterminingworst-casefuel,conditioningtestspecimensinworst-casefuel(s)priortotesting,individualtestsforpropertiesofpolymersexposedtomethanol-gasolinefuelmixtures.Thedeterminationofequilibrium,aswellastypicalcalculationsarealsocovered.Polymersareusedinapplicationswhichrequireexposuretoavarietyoffluidenvironments.Teststodeterminetheeffectsofsuchexposureonmaterialpropertiesarewellestablished.However,thedeterminationoftheeffectsonpolymersexposedtofuelsofvariablealcoholandethercontentposesnewproblems.Thisdocumentseekstoaddressthoseconcernsbydetailingchangestostandardteststhatmakethemsuitableforthatpurpose.

【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforestimatingthemeanreleaserateofbiocidefromanantifoulingpaintoveritsentirelifetime(in-serviceperiod)usingamass-balancecalculation.Ifrequired,thecumulativetotalreleaseofbiocideoverthefirst14daysofthespecifiedpaintlifetimecanalsobecalculated.ThisInternationalStandardisapplicabletoanyantifoulingpaintthatreleasesabiocide.Whereanantifoulingpaintreleases,orisassumedtorelease,morethanonebiocide,thecalculationcanberepeatedtoallowestimatesofthereleaserateofeachbiocidetobeobtained.Thecalculatedestimateofthetotalamountofbiocidereleasedbythecoatingoveritslifetimecanbeconsideredasaworstcaseforthemaximumamountreleasedtotheenvironment,andsothecalculatedmeanreleaseratevalueshouldalsobeconsideredasthemaximumpossiblemeanreleaserateoverthelifetimeofthepaint.Thecalculatedestimatesaresuitableforuseingeneralenvironmentalriskassessments,andtheapplicationofappropriatecorrectionfactorswillallowthemostaccurateandrepresentativeenvironmentalriskassessmenttobemadeintherelevantscenarioandriskassessmentcase[4].Therearenominimumormaximumlimitingvaluesofreleaseratewhichrestricttheuseofthismethod.ThisInternationalStandardisprimarilydirectedtowardsthereleaseofbiocidefromantifoulingpaintsthathavebeenappliedtoshipandboathulls.Itcan,however,alsobeusedforestimatingbiocidereleasefromantifoulingpaintsthathavebeenappliedtootherobjects.
